Sep 03, 2019· Just having a new combi boiler installed in the loft and the plumbers have (neatly) taken the gas pipe outside at about 6ft from inside the under stair cupboard, run it up the wall and into the loft. They appear to have done a neat job, but just want to make sure that this is all safe and okay. They are GAS Safe registered.
It might be a gas pipe. If so it should go towards the meter. It might be a condensate pipe, but it shouldn't be. Copper is prone to freeze, and yours looks rather small and is uninsulated. Have a look inside the house and see if you can puzzle out what it is. But the first step is to ask the installer.

Running the gas pipe external is totally acceptable.
